Orphan Well Analysis & Acquisition

Orphaned wells represent both a challenge and an opportunity. Whether a well holds untapped production potential or simply needs to be properly retired, 5KR Oil LLC provides the technical evaluation and operational guidance to make the right call — and execute it correctly.

We combine thorough wellbore and historical data analysis with real-world workover and abandonment experience to deliver clear, defensible recommendations. If a well is worth acquiring, we'll tell you why and how. If it's time to walk away or plug it, we'll give you a cost-effective path to doing it right.

  • Comprehensive well condition and mechanical integrity assessment
  • Historical production data review and reservoir evaluation
  • Regulatory and compliance status audit
  • Environmental liability and decommissioning cost estimation
  • Identification of wells with viable recompletion or production potential
  • Economic analysis to support acquisition decisions
  • Acquisition due diligence and transition planning support
  • Plug and abandonment (P&A) planning, permitting, and procedure development
  • On-site supervision for P&A operations

Orphan Well Acquisition Program — Seeking Investors

5KR Oil LLC is actively seeking qualified investors to participate in our multi-phase Texas orphan well acquisition strategy. Our proprietary analysis platform has identified and ranked 5 acquisition candidates through the Texas Railroad Commission orphan well program — each evaluated by a three-stage SME analysis pipeline covering reservoir geology, production engineering, and financial feasibility. All five candidates received a Conditional GO recommendation. We are now structured to move to Phase 1 upon securing investment partnerships.

Phase 1 Conditional GO

Multi-Well Stripper Lease

Shallow multi-zone oil lease (~2,500–4,500 ft), Carrizo/Wilcox/San Miguel trend. Up to 10 wells on lease; pilot 2 first, then scale to 7 producers based on diagnostic results.

Wells on Lease~10 (target 7 producers)
Capital Required~$770,000
P&A Liability Offset$122,000 (lease-wide)
Target Production~70 BOPD at lease scale
Projected Payback13–14 months

Work Program: Echometer fluid-level shots & casing pressure test → selective rod-pump recompletions (2-well pilot gate before full lease commitment)

Phase 2 Conditional GO

Heavy-Oil Rod-Pump Stripper

Shallow heavy-oil rod-pump candidate (~1,000–1,462 ft), Upper Cretaceous formation. Historically productive field. Capital deployed in 3 gated stages — spend only after each diagnostic confirms viability.

Wells Targeted1 priority well (+ lease upside)
Capital Required$126,500 per well (staged)
P&A Liability Offset$26,000
Target Production10–15 BOPD
Projected Payback25–37 months

Work Program: Phase 1 Diagnostics $20,000 (gate) → Phase 2 Remediation $35,000 → Phase 3 Rod-Pump Recompletion $55,000 + 15% contingency

Phase 3 Conditional GO

Yegua Oil Sand

Shallow Eocene Yegua oil sand (~1,050 ft). Simple single-well recompletion with strong base-case economics. Low capital exposure for the production potential.

Wells Targeted1 well
Capital Required$115,000
P&A Liability Offset$10,000
Target Production12 BOPD (base case)
Projected Payback9.5–15 months

Work Program: Diagnostics $20,000 → Re-perforation + acid $30,000 → Rod-pump & surface recompletion $50,000 + 15% contingency

Phase 4 Conditional GO

Yegua Gas Well

Shallow Yegua gas candidate (~1,250 ft), scored 99/100 in our analysis system. Lowest capital requirement and fastest projected payback in the entire portfolio.

Wells Targeted1 well
Capital Required$57,500
P&A Liability Offset$12,000
Target Production150 MCF/D
Projected Payback~8.5 months

Work Program: Gas-well workover $50,000 + 15% contingency — minimal scope, fast-path to production; best risk-adjusted return in portfolio

Phase 5 Conditional GO

Deep Wilcox Gas / Condensate

Wilcox formation gas and condensate well (~6,085 ft). Higher capital, highest rate potential — largest single-well production opportunity in the portfolio by volume.

Wells Targeted1 well
Capital Required~$316,000
P&A Liability Offset$60,000
Target Production150–300 MCF/D + condensate
Projected Payback14–22 months

Work Program: Rig + wireline diagnostics $55,000 → Cleanout/squeeze/perf/acid $95,000 → Tubing/packer/wellhead $80,000 → Surface facilities $45,000 + 15% contingency

Total Portfolio Capital ~$1.39M
Total P&A Liability Offset $230,000
Payback Range (Base Case) 8.5 – 37 mo
